Writer/director Geeta Patel's first film Project Kashmir, was funded by ITVS and Sundance, and was chosen for three Sundance Institute labs and the Tribeca Institute TAA program. Her second film, a romantic comedy called Meet The Patels was produced by PBS and Impact Partners, and received theatrical distribution via Alchemy in 2015. Geeta tends to work with the same creative teams though her films vary drastically in genre. Geeta began her career as a writer's assistant on the Imagine/ABC television drama The Beast, starring Frank Langella. She went on to become an Associate Screenwriter for studio films, ranging from original work to production re-writes. She has worked with Disney, Universal Pictures, ABC, NBC, and Twentieth Century Fox, including The Fast and the Furious and Blue Crush. A graduate in Comparative Area Studies at Duke University, Geeta's background languages and global human geography, along with her obsession with music videos and action/dance choreography, greatly informs her work. While studying in Berlin, Writer/Director Anthony Minghella inspired her to pursue a career in Storytelling. Geeta was recently Visiting Artist in Belarus and Turkey as one of 29 filmmakers chosen for President Obama's film delegation. - IMDb Mini Biography By: Publicist: Natasha Goud,
